Dr. Tomsen

Dr. Tomsen returned to Anchorage after her advanced schooling at Rice University, the University of Oklahoma, Dartmouth and Baylor College of Medicine where she completed her OB/GYN residency.

After practicing both obstetrics and gynecology for many years, Dr. Tomsen limited her practice to gynecology in 1992. Dr. Tomsen became one of the founding partners of AWC in 1995 and now focuses on Women’s health issues such as abnormal bleeding, fibroids and abnormal pap smears.

Dr. Tomsen and her husband have two children. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, reading, bicycling, cross-country skiing and quilting. She sustains an interest in the local arts community, and her family has hosted several exchange students through AFS. She works to promote community bicycling and cross-country skiing in Anchorage.
