Patti attended the University of Delaware for what she calls her “first degree” in languages and literature, Italian Studies.  She went on to the University of Pennsylvania for Nursing and Midwifery school.  Patti has been practicing for 10 years, including 6 years of those years in Kotzebue.  She believes midwifery is what she was called to do, and the midwifery model of care matches her own philosophies. 

Environmental issues, cultural diversity, social justice and global conscience issues are all important to her.  She enjoys hiking, outdoor activities, and spending time with her husband of 12 years, their families, and friends.  She is a self-professed crossword puzzle “dork” and has a thing for cool socks and Indian food.
